ACUITY UPDATE - Materials are now available for students instruction 8/12/10
Your children can now log onto Acuity to get some practice in ELA and Math before school begins. Log-on information was distributed in June, with report cards.
Some of the work assigned is on your child's new grade level, to introduce the challenge of the new grade. Some of the work is meant for review and is based on your child's previous grade level.
The Acuity system provides a 3-part instructional program. First, there is a tutorial, where your child is taught about the skill. (You can turn on the sound, and have everything read aloud to your child.) Then, there is some practice material. Finally, there is a practice "test," which your child completes online. The results become available for your child's new teacher to see and use to plan individualized instruction for your child.
We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to refresh old skills and build new skills, preparing your child for success in the new school year.
Please contact our Parent Coordinator Mrs. Sarno should you have any question or concerns.
